But what's this Cuddling thing?

Exactly what it sounds like: Platonic, nurturing, comforting touch. No underlying agenda. No worries. Just a caring and comforting environment where hugs and cuddles are safe and cozy. If you have big feelings that you don’t feel safe expressing elsewhere, my cuddle space is that safe place. I can hold you, both physically and emotionally, while you cry, rail, or even laugh.

Benefits of Cuddling

Have you ever noticed how good you feel when you get a nice long hug? Your body is generating oxytocin, which is also called the love hormone or the cuddle chemical.

Benefits of oxytocin include:

  • has been shown to decrease stress and increase relaxation

  • improve social skills

  • lessen anxiety and social anxiety

  • lower blood pressure

  • increase self-esteem and build trust

  • reduced risk of heart disease

  • improved immune system and faster recovery

  • pain relief and raised pain threshold

  • promote sleep

How does it work? (what should I expect in a session)

When I receive your request to cuddle, we will schedule a 20-30 minute conversation to discuss what you are looking for in a session, and make sure we are a good match. If we are both comfortable with moving forward, we’ll schedule a session and you’ll pay in advance.

In-person sessions take place at a Wellness Studio/office near the Circle in Old Town Orange. After a welcome, we will begin with a few moments to review the Code of Conduct, and become comfortable with one another.

We might start with some breathing together, or guided relaxation. We’ll have a conversation about how you would like the session to progress (e.g., how much touch, music or quiet, who guides the session), and we’ll co-create a loving and nurturing environment. Laughter and tears are equally welcome.

Virtual Cuddling? What's that?!?

Virtual sessions are tailored to your needs. We can be cozy and quiet together, we can talk or be quiet, laugh or cry, sing together, I can read a story to you. We can do some mirroring games or nuturing self-soothing activities which will help you to feel connected and cared for.

Graceful Cuddle Workshops

Graceful Cuddle Workshop is a guided social experience that includes a welcome circle, easy relaxation activities, communication exercise and a description of cuddle etiquette. The event culminates in a voluntary “cuddle lab”. Touch is always consensual, and never a requirement to participate.

At this workshop, you may experience an increased sense of well-being and belonging, a boost in compassion and playfulness, a decrease in blood pressure and a better night’s sleep. Graceful Cuddle provides opportunities to meet new friends, connect with partners and pals in a soulful new way and be part of a warm, safe and huggable tribe.

These guidelines are like the ‘etiquette of cuddling’. We’ll go over them and answer any questions you may have during the workshop.

  • There’s no touch required – ever.

  • You can change your mind at any time.

  • Respect the boundaries of others, ideally with enthusiasm.

  • Keep touch Rated G, and stay dressed.

  • Ask and Wait: If you want to touch someone, ask. Then wait for their answer.

  • Respect the confidentiality of others.
